It provides twice the shear strength of 1/2 CDX plywood.
Why is wind resistance so important?
Even if you don't live in tornado or hurricane country, standing up to wind is very important. High velocity winds caused by firestorms can blow burning embers. Gerard's secured with four penny nails in the front. No flying embers can pass under a Gerard roof.

Are your prices really better? Yes! Many Synthetic products and premium asphalt/compostion roofs are more expensive. Even other steel roof companies are more expensive. We do not buy any of our roofs from a roof supplier. We buy from the factory. There is no middleman to add to the cost.
We buy direct from the factory here in the USA. No foreign companies! In fact each roof is specially made for your home. Compared to a common asphalt/composition roof from a qualified roofing company we are very close in price. Surprised? Asphalt/composition roofs are oil based and have risen in price so fast that prices have gone up by the month. This is a NO BRAINER! Do you want a roof that fails after a storm? That you will constantly have to evaluate the condition?
We believe a roof should be done only ONCE! When we do your roof we begin with that simple philosophy. We never want you to be concerned again with the condition of your roof. We like our customers, but unless you add an addition you will never see us again.
